Multipulse Ballistic Injection: A Novel Method for Improving Low Temperature Combustion with Early Injection Timings

چکیده
Nowadays, increasingly stricter regulations on emission reduction are inducing rapid developments in combustion science. Low-temperature (LTC) is an advanced technology that increases engine’s thermal efficiency and even provides low emissions of nitrogen oxides (NOx) particulate matter (PM). The often uses early direct injections to achieve sufficient mixture homogeneity. This leads increasing wall wetting lower efficiency. paper introduces the Multipulse ballistic injection (MBI) method improve with timings. research was carried out a four-cylinder medium-duty diesel engine high-pressure exhaust gas recirculation (HP-EGR). investigation divided into two experiments. In first experiment, MBI examined without EGR, second, EGR applied study its effects. It found strategy decreased increased homogeneity indicated mean effective pressure (IMEP) at angles.

Multipulse excitability in a semiconductor laser with optical injection.
An optically injected semiconductor laser can produce excitable multipulses. Homoclinic bifurcation curves confine experimentally accessible regions in parameter space where the laser emits a certain number of pulses after being triggered from its steady state by a single perturbation. This phenomenon is organized by a generic codimension-two homoclinic bifurcation and should also be observable...
متن کاملNumerical Investigation on the Effect of Injection Timing on Combustion and Emissions in a DI Diesel Engine at Low Temperature Combustion Condition
One promising way to achieve low temperature combustion regime is the use of a large amount of cooled EGR. In this paper, the effect of injection timing on low temperature combustion process and emissions were investigated via three dimensional computational fluid dynamics (CFD) procedures in a DI diesel engine using high EGR rates. The results show when increasing EGR from low levels to levels...

متن کاملAssembly-Level Pre-injection Analysis for Improving Fault Injection Efficiency
This paper describes a fully automated pre-injection analysis technique aimed at reducing the cost of fault injection campaigns. The technique optimizes the fault-space by utilizing assembly-level knowledge of the target system in order to place single bit-flips in registers and memory locations only immediately before these are read by the executed instructions. This way, faults (time-location...
متن کاملImproving Software Fault Injection
It has become well-established that software will never become bug-free, which has spurred research in mechanisms to contain faults and recover from them. Since such mechanisms deal with faults, fault injection is necessary to evaluate their effectiveness. However, little thought has been put into the question whether fault injection experiments faithfully represent the fault model designed by ...
